Pliva 787 Pill

Today we shall examine one more special pill, indexed PLIVA 787. What makes it special? The fact that it is one of the medications discovered and initially launched on the market by Pliva, Inc. herself. Each little oval white Pliva 787 pill contains 250 mg of azithromycin. The medication is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections affecting skin, respiratory systen, urinary tract, middle ear and so on.

Pliva 456

Description: little, round, white, one side is scored, the other side is indexed (debossed) with "PLIVA 456".

It is a "special" pill. Each Pliva 456 contains 5 mg oxybuntin chloride, a substance that helps to resist frequent or urgent urination (which may be especially useful during the night). It works by reducing muscle spasms of the bladder and urinary tract. In pills, the medication is also available as name brand Ditropan. However, it is needless to remind that Pliva, Inc. manufactures a generic version of the medication.

Pliva 441 Pill

Pliva 441 pill has a special shape, easily recognizable, though not as easily described. It is a trapezoid, divided by a score into two halves on one side (this side is indexed with PLIVA and 441 placed on each half separately), and into three equal parts by two scores on the other (each part is marked with "50").

Each Pliva 441 contains 150mg trazodone hydrochloride, which is an antidepressant with anxiolytic and hypnotic properties. And the scores enable you to divide the pill into smaller strengths of 50mg or 75mg (very convenient and helpful feature, we must admit).

Pliva 441 trazodone pills are normally used for treatment of depression, and sometimes as an anti-anxiety medicine, and, due to their sedative qualities, even as a pain reliever.

Pliva 470 Pill

Pliva 470 is a little round pill, pink-colored, debossed with PLIVA 470 index on one side. The other side has a score, with no letters or numbers. It is a propranolol pill, which belongs to the family of special heart medications called beta blockers. Generic propranolol is produced by a number of manufacturers, but Pliva 470 pills can be set apart in this row, as each pill contains 60 mg of propranolol hydrochloride - a strength which cannot be found among other manufacturers' products. E.g., this strength fills the gap in Mylan's propranolol products: Mylan 184 (40 mg) and Mylan 185 (80 mg).

Pliva 314

PLIVA 314 is 4 mg Cyproheptadine HCl pill, also known as brand name Periactin. It can be listed as a sedative, though sedatives should be divided into three large groups: sleeping pills, anti-anxiety medications and antistaminic (anti-allergic) drugs. Pliva 314 pills belong to the last category, being used mainly for treatment of rhinitis and hay fever. As for description, it is as plain as usual: little, white, round, indexed "PLIVA 314" on one side, the other side is scored.

Pliva 616

An oval rounded greyish white pill with "PLIVA 616" code on it is one of the numerous variations for generic Tramadol HCl in a strength of 50 mg. The medication is produced by a number of pharmaceutical companies, including Pliva, Inc. Products of different manufacturers look differently (e.g., you may compare Pliva 616 to Mylan's M T7 pill). However, all of them are the same substance, also known under the brand name Ultram, an analgesic used for treatment of moderate to moderately severe pain and most types of neuralgia. By action, Pliva 616 is very close to opioids, such as hydrocodone, morphine, or codeine.

Pliva 468

What is said about Pliva 467 pills can as well be said about Pliva 468 pills. With only two amendments: the color of Pliva 468 pills is blue, the strength is 20mg each. But they are the same Propranolol, a heart-medication, one of beta-blockers. As a matter of fact, it seems to be quite convenient when you get some medicine in pills which look alike, with only a few differences, like color. The only thing you have to remember is their strengths, in order not to overdose.

Pliva 467

Let's have a closer look at a series of colored PLIVA pills, with numbers starting at 467 and coming up to 471. The first one is orange, indexed "PLIVA 467" on one side, the other side is scored. What sort of medicine do we have? It is a heart medication which belongs to the group of beta-blockers. Its generic name is Propranolol (Propranolol hydrochloride, to be exact). It is aslo distributed under some brand names that include Inderal and InnoPran XL. Pliva 467 pill is 10 mg in strength, and it is a generic version of the drug.

Pliva 434

What is said about Pliva 433 pill can as well be said about Pliva 434 pill, with the only amendment that Pliva 434 is twice more potent than the previous one. It contains 100 mg of Trazodone Hydrochloride. But they are both little, round and scored on the reverse, and only the number on the index can tell you exactly what you have.

Pliva 433 Pill

And again, the pill is little, white and round, with one of the sides scored. And only the number debossed on it may help you identify your medicine. Now, the is number is "433", and the whole index reads as "PLIVA 433". You've got enough details to come to a conclusion that it is 50 mg Trazodone Hydrochloride pill (generic for name brand Desyrel), a rather popular medication used for treatment of depression. It may also help to fight restlessness and sleeplessness, as a anti-anxiety medication. Trazodone's sedative properties may relieve chronic pain, too. In the row of Trazodone pills, Pliva 433 is the least strength available.

Pliva 430 - Metoclopramide

In fact, the medication distributed as Reglan or Maxolon is internationally known as Metoclopramide. Different pharmaceutical companies may distribute their products under various brand names. Anyway, the essential thing is the active ingredient in the drug. Name brands may change from country to country but the medicine remains the same. Pliva, Inc. manufactures its own generic version of Metoclopramide in pills of two strengths (5mg and 10mg). PLIVA 430 is 10mg pill. The pill is little, white and round, with "PLIVA 430" index debossed on one side. The other side is scored, with no letters or numbers. Metoclopramide is mainly used for treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), as a gastrointestinal stimulant and antinauseant.

Pliva Pills Identification

  • What is "Pliva"? Is it a special drug?
No, it is not a drug. PLIVA, Inc. is the name of a pharmaceutical company that manufactures a great variety of different drugs.

  • Are all PLIVA pills different medications?
Most of them are different. But you may often find the same drugs under different PLIVA indexes because Pliva, Inc. manufactures some of them in different strengths.

  • If I find several pills indexed with "PLIVA" letters, how do I tell one from another?
You only have to know the number debossed or imprinted on the pill. In PLIVA listing, different medicines (or strengths) are indexed with different numbers.

As the information on some medications is not always easily available, we hope this blog can be useful for those who try to identify their pills without making any extra effort. We are doing our best to make pills identification as simple as possible.

Please, feel free to leave your comments and share your ideas. We would greatly appreciate your participation!

Pliva 334

In addition to 250 mg pill of Metronidazole produced by Pliva, Inc., you may find a pill of a greater strength which contains twice as much of the medicine as Pliva 333 pill. Now it is indexed "Pliva 334", which is 500 mg Metronidazole (generic Flagyl). The pill is oblong, white colored, unscored, with PLIVA 334 debossed on one side of it ("PLIVA" over "334"). The medicine is used to treat different kinds of bacterial infections, mostly of urinary tract, but also amebic dysentery and liver abscess.

Different infections require different approach and varied doses of Metronidazole.

In case of vaginal and urinary tract infections, such as trichomoniasis, either four Pliva 334 pills (2000 mg of Metronidazole) are taken as a single dose or divided into two equal doses taken in the same day, or one Pliva 333 pill (250 mg of Metronidazole) is taken three times a day during a week.

In cases of amebic dysentery and amebic liver abscess, 750 mg of Metronidazole (that is one and a half of Pliva 334 pill) is taken three times a day during 5 to 10 days.

Pliva 333 Pill

One more little round pill. This time, it is indexed with "PLIVA 333". "Pliva" letters do only tell you that the pill is produced by Pliva, Inc. But the number turns to be of real importance for the pill's identification. "333" says that the pill you are looking at is Metronidazole (generic Flagyl), in strength of 250 mg. It is an antibiotic used for treatment of some vaginal and urinary tract infections, amebic dysentery and liver abscess.

Pliva 314 Pill

To begin with, let us have a look at a little round white pill with "PLIVA 314" index on it. The letters and numbers are debossed on one side of the pill, while the other side is scored. The pill looks nothing special, and the medicine can only be recognized by the index. Pliva 314 is actually Cyproheptadine hydrochloride, generic for Periactin. It is an anti-allergic agent with sedative properties. Each Pliva 314 pill contains 4 mg of Cyproheptadine.
